Fissler Vitaquick Pressure Cooker The Fissler Vitaquick 6-Quart Pressure Cooker - the BMW of Pressure Cookers
For the BMW of Pressure Cookers, choose the Fissler Vitaquick Pressure Cooker! I've been testing pressure cookers all summer and the Fissler is the Gold Standard of pressure cookers! Yes, it costs $$$, but this addition to any kitchen is as essential as a Blendtec Total Blender Designer Series or a Vitamix. The video below demonstrates the Fissler Vitaquick Pressure Cooker cooking Yukon Gold Potatoes for my vegan mashed potato recipe. The entire process took 10 minutes from start to finish! You won't believe the ease of pressure cooking.

The Fissler Vitaquick® Pressure Cookers exceed the minimum safety requirements of Europe and the United States with patented innovative features:
Euromatic Safety Valve
With the perfection of the automatic Euromatic valve, every Vitaquick® pressure cooker offers a high degree of safety with convenience and reliability. The valve only engages once the handle is properly locked, and it ensures a safe build-up of pressure and opening of the lid by automatically closing once the oxygen has escaped. The valve also automatically releases any excess pressure to maintain a safe level at any time.
Residual Pressure Block
The cooker can only be opened if it has been depressurized completely.
The stainless lid locks into place, creating a tight seal, and pressure can only build if the lid is put on correctly and locked. It is impossible for the lid to come off with pressure inside.
Automatic Steam Release
If the temperature in the cooker increases too much, the automatic steam release function in the main control valve permits steam to escape and thus limits the temperature and pressure.
Benefits of Using Fissler Pressure Cookers
The Fissler Vitaquick®, saves up to 70% of the regular recipe cooking times and as much as 50% of the energy traditionally used in cooking.
Using Fissler Vitaquick® Pressure Cookers is a great way of achieving a balanced diet while saving precious time and energy!
Conventional cooking methods cause many vitamins and minerals to be destroyed or released in the cooking liquid, which is often drained. Fissler Vitaquick® Pressure Cookers require less cooking liquid and cook faster, preserving food’s nutritional value.
No Sound, Steam or Smell
The Fissler Vitaquick® Pressure Cookers are very unique in that they are completely silent. There is no unnerving rattling or hissing while under normal operating pressure. Once the oxygen is expelled and the valve locks into place, hardly any steam escapes into the air during the cooking process, keeping the kitchen cool and odor-free. As a result of this silent operation, less time, energy, and liquid is required during the cooking process.
Vitaquick pressure cookers are completely silent and steam-free under pressure, so less water, energy, and time are needed.
Fissler Vitaquick Auto-Locking Handle with Indicator
Auto-Locking Handle with Visual Indicator
The handle automatically locks with an audible click when closed properly and features a visual indicator window that changes from red to green when securely locked. Pressure cannot build until the lid is properly locked and the visual indicator is green.
Fissler Vitaquick Conical-Shaped for Small Space Storage
Vitaquick has a conical pot shape, so that cookers of the same diameter may be stacked for space-saving storage without scratching or wedging.
Cleaning the Fissler Vitaquick is EASY
Cleaning Made Easy
Cleaning the maintenance-free main control valve simply involves rinsing the lid under running water, and does not require removal for cleaning in the dishwasher.
Removable Lid Handle
The lid handle can easily be removed if desired with a simple thumbscrew.
Fissler Vitaquick Min/Max Measuring Scale
Minimum/Maximum Measuring Scale
The internal measuring scale is a fast and easy reference for pressure cooking beginners and pros alike.
Fissler Vitaquick Fool-Proof Safety Lid
Fool-Proof Safety Lid
This feature is a WINNER for those of us who struggle with getting the lid seated correctly on other brands of pressure cookers. Fissler completely redesigned the lid with an insert groove in the handle that fits the lid the first time every time and I can do the lid using one hand. REMARKABLE EASE and LUXURY, just like a BMW!
Fissler Vitaquick CookStar All-Stove Base
CookStar All-Stove Base
The CookStar all-stove base, far-right, is made of an extra-thick aluminum core and high-quality stainless steel. Note how the metal goes right up the side! The extra metal ensures that the base will never separate, warp, or develop hot-spots, even on induction stoves. I found that it heats faster and provides a uniform cooking base.
The CookStar base provides up to 350% energy savings. Fissler offers an unlimited guarantee that each CookStar base will stay perfectly flat on any kind of stove, including induction, for lifetimes.

Update:What's the best size of Fissler Vitaquick to purchase?
Several readers have asked about what is the best size to buy. After using my 6.4 quart, I can say without hesitation that you should purchase the 8.5 quart or 10.6 quart if cooking for more than 2 people. With the larger sizes, you can cook a little or huge amount. Artichokes need lots of room, so my recommendation is the 10.6 quart Fissler Vitaquick for the best return on your dollar. I LOVE mine and will be ordering the larger size so I can cook two different recipes at the same time.
Replacement Sealing Ring
There is a silicone ring that fits inside the rim of the Fissler Vitaquick Pressure Cookers that needs replacement after a few years of cooking. Personally, I think you might want to get a replacement ring to keep handy in the event that you are cooking for a crowd on Thanksgiving or Christmas and the Vitaquick will not come to pressure. This happened to me and after moving the ring around 12 times I was able to get it to work. If I had a replacement ring on hand, my frustration would have vanished... just an idea.
