Alkaline Flu Shots

Alkaline Flu ShotsHealthy in a HURRY!

Optimum health is best created by keeping the human body in an alkaline state. To do this easily, green juices are BEST! I like to create Alkaline Flu Shots using fresh organic kale with a few lemons and limes. I add a tad sweet from an orange, apple, and cucumber. Try this mid-morning and mid-afternoon everyday for energy and great defense against all kinds of viruses, germs and bacteria! And of course, I make this using my Hurom Slow Juicer!

Ingredients

5 organic kale leaves, Dinosaur kale is my favorite for its flavor
1 organic orange
2 limes, peeled
1 lemon, peeled
1/2 organic English cucumber
1 organic apple
pinch sea salt

Preparation

The Fruits and Veggies Wash

Give everything a wash in 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar filled with cold water.

Swish the contents and rub the surfaces to release any dirt or germs.

Rinse under cold water and set items onto a clean tea towel.

The Lemons, Limes and Orange

Use a sharp knife, I like a small serrated knife, and cut the peeling from the flesh of the citrus items.

Cut the peeled citrus items in half.

The Cucumber

Use the Kyocera Peeler to remove the skin of the cucumber.

Cut the peeled cucumber in half lengthwise.

The Apple

Cut the apple in half and then cut each half into four slices.

Juice the Fruits and Veggies

The Hurom Slow Juicer is my juicer of choice and it juice kale best when something wet like the citrus or cucumber are along for the juicing ride. So start with a piece of lemon and immediately follow with a kale leaf. You’ll understand why this works best after experiencing the Hurom yourself. Keep adding all the fruits and veggies until finished.

Sea Salt

Personally, I enjoy a pinch of sea salt in all my juices. This is optional, but I think it makes every juice taste better.

Serve immediately.

Storing Leftovers

If you want to store leftover juice, choose a jar or glass that will allow you to pour the juice to the top of container. It’s important for there to NOT be any AIR POCKET that will speed oxidation of the juice. Cover with a piece of plastic cling wrap or a lid and refrigerate immediately after sealing.

I think juices should be consumed the day they are made for optimum health benefits.
