Fire-Roasted Restaurant-Style Salsa with Tortilla Chips
Fire-Roasted Restaurant-Style Salsa is ingredient-driven and extremely satisfying. This gourmet salsa recipe is made with ingredients readily found in any vegan pantry. Taste is the cornerstone for the best salsa and this recipe provides a vegan culinary basic.

Fast Food for Unexpected Guests

Unexpected friends show up and what do you serve? Everyone has a can of tomatoes and a bag of chips, right? This inexpensive, gourmet salsa recipe is a snap to create in less than five minutes.

Fast Potluck Food

Create this salsa and pick up a few bags of vegan tortilla chips and you’ll be the hit of the next party you attend.

Ingredients

  • 1 15-ounce can Muir Fire Roasted Tomatoes, diced

  • 1 whole jalapeño pepper, quartered

  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion

  • 1 bunch fresh organic cilantro, rough chop

  • 4 tablespoons fresh lime juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt

  • Gourmet Option: Pickled Hot Carrots, medium dice

Tools

Cuisinart Food Processor Fitted with Knife Blade
knife
cutting board
glass jar for storage
can opener

Preparation

Pulse

Pour all the ingredients into the Cuisinart Food Processor fitted with the knife blade.

Pulse several times and stop before it is smooth.

I like to see visible bits of the ingredients in the finished salsa.

Taste

Open the lid and sample some of the salsa with a tortilla chip.

Add sea salt if desired and a bit more lime juice.

Storage

Pour the finished Gourmet Fire=Roasted Restaurant-Style Salsa into a glass jar and store in the refrigerator. It should last for a week, but it never lasts that long in our house!
